Follow these instructions to configure Microsoft Outlook XP/2002 to receive e-mail from your Extreme Internet account:

1. Press the Start button and select "E-mail (Microsoft Outlook)".

2. Select Tools > E-mail Accounts

3. On the E-Mail Accounts panel, select "Add a new e-mail account" and press Next.  (Do not select any options under the Directory section.)

4. On the Server Type panel, select "POP3" and press Next.

5. On the Internet E-mail Settings (POP3) panel, fill in the following fields:
   

   User Information
   Your Name:	enter the name you would like displayed on e-mail messages
   E-Mail Address:	enter your Extreme Internet e-mail address (example:  johnsmith@extremezone.com)
   Logon Information
   User Name:	enter your Extreme Internet User Name (example:  johnsmith)
   Password:	enter your Extreme Internet account password Make sure this password is in all lowercase letters. You may check the option "Remember Password" Note: Do not select the option "Log on using Secure Password Authentication (SPA)"
   Server Information
   Incoming mail server (POP3):	mailhost.extremezone.com
   Outgoing mail server (SMTP):	mailhost.extremezone.com

    

6. When you have completed these settings, press Next.

7. On the Congratulations panel, press Finish.

Outlook is now configured to receive e-mail from your Extreme Internet account.  If you have a dedicated or DSL connection, you will automatically retrieve your e-mail from the Extreme Internet mail server when you launch Outlook.  If you have a dial-up connection, you will have to connect to the Internet first, then launch Outlook and receive your e-mail.
