Support - Dial-Up Configuration (Windows 2000)


From Your desktop, Use your right mouse button to click once on "My Network Places". When the menu appears Select properties and click with the left mouse button once.

Network and Dial-Up Connections
Place your mouse cursor over the icon labeled Make New Connection and double click with your left mouse button.

Network Connection Wizard.
Welcome to the Network Connection Wizard. Click the Next button on the bottom of screen to continue.

Network Connection Type
Place your mouse cursor over the white dot labeled Dial-up to the Internet then go down to the bottom of the screen and click Next

Internet Connection Wizard.
Take your mouse cursor and place it on the circle and click on, "I want to set up my Internet connection manually, or I want to connect through a local area network (LAN)".
Click on Next

Setting up your Internet connection
Take your mouse cursor and place it the on the circle and click on, "I connect through a phone line and a modem".
Click on Next

Choose Modem
On this screen you need to choose your modem. In most cases your modem will already be selected. If you have more than one modem installed please select the modem that your phone line is pluged into.
Click on Next

Step 1 of 3: Internet account connection information
Leave area code blank
For the phone number please type your Tabletop Dialup number. If you have call waiting, type *70, with either number you are using.
Country/region name and code: United States of America (1)
Take your mouse cursor and place it on the box and click on, "Dial using the area code and country code" to remove checkmark.
Click on Advance

Advance Connection Properites
Click on the Connection tab
Connection type
Make sure there is a dot next to, "PPP (Point to Point Protocol)".

Logon procedure
Make sure there is a dot next to, "None".
Click on the the Address tab at the top

Addresses
IP address
Make sure there is a dot next to, " Internet service provider automatically provides one".

DNS server address Take your mouse cursor and place it on the circle and click on, "Always use the following" .
Primary DNS server:   64.140.128.10
Alternate DNS server: Type 64.140.128.11
Click on OK Now you are back to the "Step 1 of 3 Internet account connection information
Click on Next

Step 2 of 3: Internet account logon information
User name: type in your Tabletoptelephone username.
Password: type in your Tabletoptelephone password.
Click on Next

Step 3 of 3: Configuring your computer
Connection name: Type Tabletoptelephone
Click on Next

Set Up Your Internet Mail Account
Please take your mouse cursor and place it over the circle and click on, "Yes"
Click on Next

Internet Mail Account
Please take your mouse cursor and place it over the circle and click on, "Create a new Internet mail account".
Click on Next

Your Name
Please type your Display name in the box.
For example: John Smith
Click on Next

Internet E-mail Address
Please type your E-mail address in the box.
For example: johnsmith@tabletoptelephone.com Click on Next

E-mail Server Names
My incoming mail server is a POP3
Incoming mail (POP3, IMAP or HTTP) server:
Please type: pop.tabletoptelephone.com (in lower case)
Click on Next

Outgoing mail (SMTP) server:
Please type: smtp.tabletoptelephone.com (in lower case)
Click on Next

Internet mail Logon
Account name: type in your username (in lower case)
Password: type in your password (in lower case)
You may leave the checkmark on "Remember password"
Click on Next

Completing the Internet Connection Wizard
You have successfully completed the Internet Connection wizard.
Your computer is now configured to connect your Internet account.

After you close this wizard, you can connect to the Internet at any time by double-clicking the Internet Explorer icon on your desktop.

To connect to the Internet immediately, select the box then click finish. If you do not wish to connect at this time, take your mouse cursor and click on the box to remove the checkmark. Click on finish.
