Support - Remote Access (Windows NT)

This Page explains how to configure Windows NT 4.0 Dial-up Networking for connecting to Tabletoptelephone.

To dial in to Tabletoptelephone Internet, Windows NT 4.0 has a program called Remote Access (RAS).

The following instructions assume that you have already installed Remote Access (RAS) on your computer.

Double-click the My Computer icon on the desktop, double-click Control Panel, then double click the Network icon.

Choose the Protocols tab and make sure TCP/IP is there. If it isn't there, click Add.

Select the TCP/IP protocol, click OK, and follow the screen directions to provide the source files to install TCP/IP. Click OK on the Network page after installing.

In the My Computer window, double-click on the Dial-Up Networking.

Under Name the New Phonebook Entry, type in Tabletoptelephone Internet. This name is only a reference to the dial properties you use to call Extreme Internet. Click Next.

Click Next again to skip this screen.

Under Phone Number, type your Tabletoptelephone phone number. If you have call waiting, please type *70 before the phone number.

Click Finish.

Double-click on the My Computer icon. Then double-click on the Dial-up Networking icon. Click the More button, and choose Edit Entry And Modem Properties.

Click the Server tab. The Dial-Up Server type should be PPP. In the section called Network Protocols, uncheck the IPX/SPX and NetBeui options.

Click TCP/IP Settings, and make sure Server assigned IP address and Specify name server addresses are selected.

For Primary DNS type in 64.140.128.10 For Secondary DNS type in 64.140.128.11

Make sure Use IP header compression and Use default gateway on the gateway on the remote network are selected. Click OK.

Click the Script tab. Select the None radio button then click OK.

Click Dial to connect to Tabletoptelephone Internet
