Support - DSL Configuration (Windows 2000)

These instructions are for Windows 2000.

Click on the 'Start' menu, select 'Settings,' and click on 'Network and Dial-up Connections.'

Using the right mouse button, click once on the 'Local Area Connection' icon, and select 'Properties' from the drop-down menu that appears.

note: "local area connection" will only be there if a network card is already installed

[Network Control Panel]

Click on 'Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)' to highlight it, then click on the 'Properties' button.

If TCP/IP is not there, please do the following steps. If it is, move on to the next step.
Click the 'install' button. Now double click on 'Protocol'. Select 'Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)' and hit the 'OK' button

[LAN Connection Properties]

From the properties window, make sure that the following two items are selected:

Obtain an IP address automatically
Use the following DNS server addresses

In the Prefered DNS server type: 64.140.128.10
In the Alternate DNS server type: 64.140.128.11

[TCP/IP Properties]

Click 'OK' to close the TCP/IP Properties window, then click 'OK' again to close the LAN Properties window.

It may be necessary to restart your computer for these changes to take effect.

Start Internet Explorer and enjoy your high-speed connection to the Internet!
