Table Top Telephone Support - Outlook XP/2002 (Windows)

Follow these instructions to configure Microsoft Outlook 2000 to receive e-mail from your Tabletop Telephone Internet account:

Launch Microsoft Outlook.

Select Tools > Accounts

On the Internet Accounts panel, select the "Mail" tab.

Highlight "Mail Account" and press Properties.

The Mail Account Properties panel will open on the "General" tab. Fill in the following:

Mail Account Name:
Mail Account
User Information

Name: enter the name you would like displayed on e-mail messages
Organization: enter a company name (optional)
E-Mail Address: enter your Tabletop Telephone Internet e-mail address (example: johnsmith@tabletoptelephone.com)
Reply address: enter your Tabletop Telephone Internet e-mail address again (optional)
Check the option "Include this account when receiving mail or synchronizing"



Next, select the "Servers" tab on the Mail Account Properties panel and fill in the following:

Server Information
My incoming mail server is a ___ server: POP3
Incoming mail (POP3): pop.tabletoptelephone.com
Outgoing mail (SMTP): smtp.tabletoptelephone.com

Incoming Mail Server

Account Name: enter your Tabletop Telephone Internet User Name (example: johnsmith)
Make sure this username is in all lower case letters.
Password: enter your Tabletop Telephone Internet account password
You may check the option "Remember Password"

Note: Do not select the option "Log on using Secure Password Authentication (SPA)"



Next, select the "Connection Tab" on the Mail Account Properties panel and fill in the following:

Connection
If you have a DSL connection, select: "Connect using my local area network (LAN)"
If you have a dial-up connection, select "Connect using my phone line"


Next, select the "Advanced" tab on the Mail Account Properties panel and fill in the following:

Server port numbers
Outgoing mail (SMTP): 25
Incoming mail (POP3): 110


Press OK to close the Mail Account Properties panel.

Press Close to close the Internet Accounts panel.
