Format
Tournament will be "round-robin" type similar to the format used at Williamsport.  Championship game, Saturday, August 14, 1999 7:00pm PDT will be shown live on ESPN2.

There will be a Four Team International Division and a Five Team USA Division.  Each Division will play a "round-robin" type tournament schedule, one game vs. every other team in its division.  The two teams with the best won-lost records in each division, will advance to the Division Championship Game.  The winners of each Division Championship Game will advance to the World Series Championship Game to determine the World Series Champion.

Tie Breaker Rules:
Rules pertaining to runs allowed per defensive inning; total number of runs allowed, divided by the defensive innings played, for all games and if necessary, for games between the tied teams; and "head-to-head" competition, will be used to break any ties.
1) Two Teams Tied
a) If two teams are tied, with the best won-lost records, they will play in the Division Championship game, to determine the Division Winner.
b) If two teams are tied for the second best won-lost record, the winner of the "pool play" or "head-to-head" game will advance.
2) Three Teams Tied
a) The total number of runs allowed, divided by the defensive innings played, for all games, with all teams.  The team with the lowest number of runs allowed per inning, will advance.  The remaining team will be determined by Para. 1(b) above.
b) If method "a" did not break the tie, the following method will be used.  The total number of runs allowed, divided by the defensive innings played, will be re-calculated, using only the games played between the tied teams.

NOTES:

1)

If we have any rain-outs, the schedule will be revised and double headers will be played to make up for the dates lost.

2)

Any part of an inning played on defense counts as a full inning, for the purpose of computing the run differential.
