Sanctuary Accreditation

Southwest Wildlife is accredited by both the American Sanctuary Association (ASA) and The Association of Sanctuaries (TAOS) and, therefore, must operate under strict and rigorous guidelines with respect to animal management and care.

To maintain accreditation, Southwest Wildlife must:

provide animals a safe home for life
provide for the comfort of the animals
provide enrichment opportunities for the animals

As an accredited sanctuary, Southwest Wildlife does NOT:

utilize animals for commercial purposes
breed animals
buy, sell, or trade animals

For more information on the requirements to obtain and maintain accredited sanctuary status, visit: ASA www.asaanimalsanctuaries.org or TAOS, www.taosanctuaries.org
