Walk on the Wild Side!


A series of educational fund raising evenings.

Discover mountain lions, wolves, bears, and more on a nighttime tour of Southwest Wildlife's Nature Center! Each evening in the series concludes with a fascinating presentation by a renowned wildlife expert.

Prepaid reservations are required.

Jaguars in the Borderlands

The largest cat in North America-the jaguar-was thought to have been extinct in the US since the mid-1900s, but the Borderlands Jaguar Detection Project has captured twenty-six photographs of jaguars in the wilds of southern Arizona using remote-sensing cameras. Get a glimpse into the life of a jaguar as Emil McCain shares unique photos and information he has acquired in his studies of this elusive cat.

California Condors: Status of Recovery

Featured Speaker: Chris Parish, Condor Conservation Director, Peregrine Fund

Mr. Parish will deliver a presentation on the status of the critically endangered California condor. Biologists are helping this species to survive by establishing self-sustaining wild populations of California Condors through captive propagation, release, and management. The ultimate goal is removing the California Condor from the Endangered Species List.

The evening will conclude with a release of a rehabilitated raptor by Wild at Heart!
